Renew SIN after landing - do I need PR card?

I know ICBC won't let me renew my DL before actually receiving the PR card. Will service Canada renew my SIN? I only have a copy of signed confirmation of PR.
HR is asking for the new SIN.

Please let me know once we do landing do we need to inform the employer about the landing and SIN, do we get the new SIN

I got a new, permanent SIN at Service Canada a few days after landing. I brought my passport with immigrant visa foil + landing stamp, as well as my copy of signed CoPR.

It is important to inform your employer about the change in SIN Number.
