Kindly provide the advice.

I passed the citizenship test on Nov 2013 at Glen Erin, got RQ and already sent the supporting documents. My PR card will be expired on Jan 2015 and OHIP will be expired on April 2015. I am now in United States.

Can I mail the application form to renew my PR card? Can I use my address in US as my current address and Canada address as my mailing address? Should I apply the to renew this around July 2014?

For renewal of OHIP, do I need to go and apply personally 2 or 3 months before the card is expired?

Thank you.

CIC will not process a request to renew a PR card for someone who is not living in Canada at the time of the application. You must instead apply for a "travel document" for the purposes of re-entering Canada. If you do not intend to return to Canada, you do not need a PR card or a travel document.

You are also not entitled to OHIP unless you can prove you are physically residing in Ontario.

Thank you for your reply. Kindly suggest me again.

I am also the residence of US. I can come to Canada by showing my US residence card. But my citizenship is in process and in case, my PR card was expired and CIC called me to see the judge or oath, can I still be a Canadian? Will they deny my citizneship application?

Or should I go to Canada around September 2014 to attend the wedding of my cousin and extend my PR card the same time. But I think I will only stay in Canada for about a week or may be 10 days.

Thank you in advance.

If you travel to a road border, you can actually enter Canada using your CoPR - no PR card required. Be aware that they may ask you to prove your RO (i.e. that you have lived 2 years out of the previous 5 in Canada). Depending on the officer, you may be asked in detail or only very generally.

Again, if you are not living in Canada currently, I doubt CIC will send you a PR card. You describe having a Canadian mailing address (perhaps your friend's or relative's address) but a US physical address. If CIC catches this on your application, they could refuse your application and it may even flag your Citizenship app.

The PR card is designed for people who are resident in Canada and want to be able to re-enter Canada after travelling.

I want to add as well that you cannot become a Canadian citizen unless you are a current PR, meaning that you are in compliance with the PR residence requirement (this is different than whether your PR card is current or not). If an applicant fall out of compliance with this before the citizenship application is finalized, their citizenship application will be closed.

If you are living in the US with a spouse that has Canadian citizenship though, or are under 22 and accompanying a parent who has Canadian citizenship, time spent living with them is considered like time in Canada (only for maintaining PR, not for qualifying for citizenship). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp#appendixA

Thank you so much, everyone. I do clear more now.

I think I should use this PR till it was expired and hopefully CIC will call me for oath before that time. If not, I am more likely to loose my PR or citizenship of Canada. Anyway, worse to worse, can I still go back to Canada and reapply or use the expired PR card and COPR if something happen in my life in US? I dont think so but never know...

if you notified CIC of your US green card, you may be in bit of a bother. candian PR and US green card requirements are very tough to maintain together. if you stayed out of US for more than 1 year without getting reentry permit and you can't be out for more than 2 years, you will lose the green card. in such circumstances, it is hard to maintain canadian PR requirements. hence why you got a RQ.

also here's another interesting point: http://www.uscis.gov/green-card/after-green-card-granted/maintaining-permanent-residence
You may be found to have abandoned your US permanent resident status if you:

Move to another country intending to live there permanently

not sure if obtaining canadian citizenship will jeopardize your US green card.

You've gotta think applying for Citizenship is in direct breach of that Green Card provision...
