Hi,
I have to renew my passport as it will expire in a couple of months. I was told by the consulate of my home country that they do not give back the old passport.

Will I be OK if and when they ask for my passport during the interview (or any other time)?

Thank you :)

a friend of my went to interview with his expired passport, if you don't have plan to go outside, keep it until your interview, otherwise if you really have to renew your passport, make copy of all pages (in color) and translate all stamps (please make sure you find the right translator) and keep it, but still I believe it's better to keep your expired passport until your interview.
If i were you I will call cic and asked them too. :)

Thank you for the reply.

I don't know anyone who speaks the language of the stamps i got from one country, but my spouse knows someone from work. Would it be ok to use her as a translator?

It has to be a certified translator. may be someone in this forum can help you to find one in your city.
in which languages are your stamps, and where do you live?

I think it's good if you make a new thread with a subject of "certified translator in Vancouver", I live in Montreal, so I can't help you in this case, but Im sure other people can help you.

before renew the passport it's better to call cic, just to make sure you are doing the right thing.

good luck
