Hi everyone, I got one question. if I will have a remote work in a Canadian company, will it be count as work experience in Canada?
This will be classified as foreign work experience.Question?
What if you are already in Canada but you work remotely for a US based company, will this be considered as a canada work experience?
Even if you are paying taxes in Canada as self employed? This will be classified as foreign work experience.
If you are here under an open work permit, classify yourself as self employed and are paying taxes, then I believe you can count this as Canadian work experience - however not towards Canadian Experience Class (CEC) since self employed work experience isn't accepted by CEC.Even if you are paying taxes in Canada as self employed?

It will make you eligible for FSW (not CEC). Of course whether you are selected depends on how many points you have. Right now you need 470+ points to be chosen out of the pool.Open work permit
So with what you said, will that sufficed to make me eligible to apply for PR after 1yr of this type of setting as an work experience?
OWP because spouse is studying in Canada.Would suggest you check with an immigration lawyer. The fact that there is a Canada office of your company creates doubt as to why you didn’t just work through the Canadian company. Have you set up your own consulting company where you build your US employer for your services? Was this a job your previously head in the US and essentially got PR and moved over. Are you on PGWP, IEC or OWP because you have a spouse working
/studying in Canada?
Have you looked to see what your points will be in FSW. You may not have enough points. I think you move to Canada to work for 1 year intending to apply to CEC.
You would need to be employed by the Canadian offices to qualify for CEC.Hi guys ,

The only difference is even though the company has its head office in Michigan it has 3 offices here in Canada. I wanted to know if based on this if it would qualify for the cec?
