Remote work .. IRCC will consider it as a Canadian work experience?

Hi everybody,

I am working in a multinational company, and during last year I was assigned remotely (in my country out of Canada) to participate in a project for our Canadian office. The whole period may be more than 14 months (full time).

So my question .. Will IRCC consider this period as a Canadian work experience?

I surfed the internet looking for similar cases .. And I got the following:

a. In cic I got the following page which is talking about the Canadian working experience .. Declaring the requested documentation under "Proof of work experience":
www . cic.gc. ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete . a sp

The main issue here that they didn't provide a clear answer!!
Actually they mention a case starting with "If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include .. etc" .. so this means that they consider an out of Canada work experience?!

b. Another page in cic gives a good demonstration:
w ww. cic.gc. ca/english/helpcentre/answer . a sp?qnum=730&top=29
This is talking about "Canadian Experience Class" program and it assures on providing a valid work permit as a proof.
So this is restricted to CEC program only?

c. Another question here in our forum .. Which is talking about another somehow near case: www . canadavisa. com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/remote-work-experience-t428489.0 .h tml

d. And here is another question in our forum also:
w ww. canadavisa. com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/does-canadian-work-experience-outside-canada-count-t267205.0 . h tml
The answer here is clear .. "Physical presence" is a must.

Answers in c & d are different .. And I am totally confused!!

I think the whole case can be clear if we know: Is the work permit will be requested when providing the documents of "Proof of work experience"? "work permit" was mentioned in link "b" and wasn't mentioned in link "a".

So can we have a final clear answer for this case:

1 - The remote working period exceed 1 year (full time).
2 - Experience letter from the employer will be available.
3 - The office exist in Canada.

Thanks in advance ..

Hi
My consultant has advised me to proceed further. As per them, if candidates were getting paid for the time they were out that's fine.

Hi i am in same ship. My husband worked for outside 7months of his 1yr Canadian experience outside canada due to covid restrictions under same canadian payroll ( worked remotely from india).
We received OINP nomination invite last week. While going further in OINP it is asked if we want to be considered under FSW or CEC , i choose cec and now i m in middle of my application process. Should i go ahead with it or withdraw the application and restart with FSW category.. please update.
Thankyou.

To be eligible for CEC, you must

  • have at least 1 year of skilled work experience IN Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply, and the work experience must be
    • full-time, or
    • an equal amount in part-time
Working remotely for Canadian company doesn’t count as CanadIan experienc.
