relevance of education

Dear members,hi to all

I worked as a banquet manager in a wedding hall and i have done bachelor of arts (simple B.A ) not a master degree.

i heard from someone that experience should be relevant to education done.(like manager marketing,production should be M.B.A or a person having experience in construction should be civil engineer)

I am bit confused in my case that am i eligible and my education is relevant to my experience???
plz let me know asap.

Read carefully under that NOC category, what education qualification is required.
You will get your answer.

Calculate points for Education accordingly.

For Experience: You need to find out and check your NOC as well as be sure that this is on the Ministerial List.

In my view, your experience doe not have to correspond to your education, but must be on the Magic38 List.

No relations between education and work experience is necessary except for cases such as medical doctor who cannot work as a medical doctor without having a medical degree. But if for example you have a degree in electronics and have experinece in teaching English at a college, then you can apply under NOC 4131. Remember that for immigration purposes, the job requirements under NOC definitions DO NOT apply.

am i eligible?following details are found too


Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is usually required.
Several years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are requiredis under noc 0631,is it applicable in my case?and the following details are found

What you have quoted is from the NOC website under employment requirements. These apply if you want to get a job in canada. For immigration, forget about them. Just check if your duties match those listed. The points for education are calculated independently.
