Relationship status confusion

My CRS score is 473 and I got ITA on the Nov 27th. In my ExpressEntry profile I claimed my relationship status as 'divorced'. Here are my circumstances: I got religiously married to my ex-wife (a Canadian citizen) last year in my country. The marriage was registered in Canada as well as my home country. This year she stopped communicating with me and filed for divorce at a Muslim organization in Canada that later produced a religious divorce certificate only after correspondence with me over the internet (email/skype). I claimed to be divorced in my profile assuming the religious divorce is legally valid in Canada which I later learned is not and that you have to have a divorce certificate from the Canadian government for a divorce taking place in Canada. I am confused. Should I decline the ITA and submit a new profile after correcting the mistake? Or should I correct it now and explain the whole thing in a LoE? Even though technically it won't affect my CRS score because either way I would not be accompanied by spouse, could my application end up getting rejected for misrepresentation? Even so, what should I mention as my relationship status? Would it be married or separated? Also the field of marital status is greyed and locked at divorced. How do I change that?

Apply as legally separated and include all documents. I suggest you apply for divorce ASAP.
