Rejecting a job offer from Canada, any permanent implications on immigration record?

Hello,

I was offered a job by a company in Canada. The company filed a work permit for me under the GTS visa category. My work permit got approved. However, due to a personal issue I am unable to start my job in Canada and will have to decline my job offer.

The company that filed for my work permit is very unhappy. Can they do anything and spoil my immigration record with IRCC because I decided not to join. My reasons were totally family related and unavoidable. I just don't want my immigration record with IRCC to be spoiled.

Please let me know.
