my mom's supervisa was rejected because they aren't satisfied she will return to her home country by the end of her stay. The reasons given were:
- Proof of insurance and status for host

In the application we mentioned the plan was to have her stay for 2 years, and the insurance policy I submitted was valid for 1 year. Insurance companies can't provide more than 365 days. Should I shorten her stay period? Not sure why it was the problem.

Re: Status for host. Should I have submitted my PR card? I didn't submit it as I had thought they would know.

Any thoughts or advice? Thank you!

Does your mother have strong ties to where is living?

Unless there was a requirement for you to provide evidence of your PR status (which a PR Card is NOT, automatically) I suspect they could have seen if your status was in fact valid.

How would IRCC know your status without you providing PR card. Say she will stay for one year.

She's retired and all her family and friends are back home. I'm the only family she has in Canada. My dad is back home and he's not joining her in this visit. So I assume that means a strong tie? Or is there any other way to show that she does have a strong tie back home?

Sorry to hear about your rejection. May I know if you mentioned your status as PR and PR card number in the invitation letter? I also forgot to attach the soft copy of my PR card but later sent the copy through web form.

When did you apply ?

Wish you all the best for reapplication.

I did mention my status as PR, but I didn't mention the PR card number or send the soft copy. I honestly didn't think about it. I applied in July, and just got the rejection letter today.
It doesn't look to me that I can provide additional information without submitting a new application :(
Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate it.
