Hi,
I got admitted in diploma in Management concentration with with Public relations last year in McGill University, but VO rejected my visa application assuming that my purpose of going is not pursuing my education. According to him, this graduate level program is inconsistent with my previous employeement and/or previous education and/or repetition of courses. This year i have got admission in University of Lethbridge in M.sc Managment. University of Lethbridge also offer me fellowship worth CAD $ 20,000. It is almost equal to my total tution fee. I am worried about Study permit. Would my previous rejection will affect my new visa application? What should i do to make VO believe that my intentions are genuine? How important is SOP? my profile info is;

Under graduate degree: B.sc Management
IELTS: 7 band( L 7.5, R 7.5, S 7.5, W 6)
GRE: Quant. 158; Verbal. 148
CGPA: 3.23
Please help....

You got previous rejection because you applied to a diploma course after your bachelors, diploma is a lower qualification so usually such cases get rejected.

You are good this time for visa and you will definitely get it this time. SOP is important and write SOP answering your interest for this course, Canada and this university. Show home ties and you are good to go.

Best of Luck

Thank you Inam bro, but i read it some where on this forum that once you got rejected because of inconsistant study program, it becomes more difficult if you try second time with a new program. By changing the program, one strengthens VO's impression that applicant is less concern about study programs. Is it so? Can you please also share any SOP format. It would be really nice of you.

1. It is difficult but not impossible.
2. Write a strong SOP and prove your point.
3. Have faith. I have seen cases on this forum who got visa in 3rd attempt. (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t99897.0.html) Cheer up and be positive you will get it this time.
4. No changing course is not bad. The 2nd time your file will be evaluated by a different person and he will look that you have removed the first objection by changing your course and that is it. Believe me changing course is not a big deal.

Thanx bro, One more question... Should i talk about my previous program in my SOP. It is written on McGill university website that diploma in management is designed for students who hold undergraduate degree in management or commerce. Should i touch this issue to make VO believe that even last time my intentions were genuine or should i ignore the past completely. Thanx for SOP material.

Giving a slight touch about the past visa won't be that bad. But make sure your SOP is not too long. Write clear and precise.

Write like:
Previously I was denied visa due to course mismatch. Though the previous program (diploma in xyz) was consistent with my bachelor's degree but now I have realized that as a graduate I should take my education to masters level instead of a simple diploma. Therefore, I have applied to Master in XYZ course. blah blah blah.
