I have submitted an application for criminal rehabilitation to Washington and on January 8th I received notification that I had everything right for my application. In march I got a letter stating they had sent it to New York. I only have one offense in 2006 (dui) I have been told that it should only take 6 months. I was wondering if anyone has been thru this...I was hoping to go to canada in August if I dont have it,is there anything I can do to possibly go without it while application is processing?

If you want to visit Canada before the rehab application is approved, you'll need a TRP (temproary resident permit). Note that this is very different from a termproary resident VISA (TRV). TRPs are typically not that easy to obtain and are only granted for exceptional circumstances. Information on how to apply can be found here;
