Hello Folks,

My mother holds a general visitor's visa which is valid until 2018 and she has been here twice previously for short stays less than six months.
I wanted to apply for her the super visa to avoid the hazel of stay extension. I wonder if there is any way to alter her general visitor's visa to super visa or I have to submit a separate application for super visa. If so, then are the requirements are same as general visitor's visa? What are the concerns which could increase and reduce the chances of visa approval.

Seek advice from seniors and experienced folks.

You have to submit a completely separate application for the super visa. You cannot convert the existing visitor visa to a super visa. No - the requirements are not the same. You will need to demonstrate that you meet the low income cut off to sponsor her, you'll also need to take out health insurance that meets the requirements - and she will need a medical if she hasn't had one already.
