Hello Everyone,

Need some information on the above mentioned topic.
Im canadain PR since 2012.I recently got married in India in a traditional Indian Muslim ceremony.
Im back in canada now,Im applying to sponsor my wife in Canada..I did not register my marriage in front of registrar hence i do not have register marriage certificate.But I have a nikah namah signed by the kazi who did our marriage and a legal translation document of it signed by the judge in local court(Which says marriage certificate on it)would this document enough or do I have to have A register marriage certificate,Please advise otherwise I have to make a trip to india only for this.

Have it registered to be safe.....No need to go back yourself, just ask a relative to do it for you....good luck

NIkah namah or true translation of that is not valid for the Immigration. you need to get your marriage registered under special marriage act and sponsor your spouse with that.
