I have one question regarding the canadian immigration policy. If my application get approval, I know that I would have to stay in Canada for 6 months period or so. Now I have a full time job in the USA which I would like to keep untill I get a job offer in Canada. My question is, once I get approval from Canadian immigration, can I avoid the 6 months stay period untill I get a job offer from Canada?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

There is no 6 month rule, to maintain your PR status you must reside in Canada for 2 years in every 5 year period.

As far as I know, once you get your PR, you have to enter in Canada in first six-month from date PR has been granted. Once you are in Canada, you can complete all initial stuff, such as receiving PR card, apply for SIN and Health Card. Once you receive them (approximately in 5 weeks) you can return. However, as PMM mentioned you have to stay in Canada for 2 years in 5 years to sustain your PRship.

After entering Canada, can we come out before we receive PR ?
Is it legal to send the Canada PR card through post to US ?

I understand that it takes around 4-5 weeks to get PR card and I am working in US and may have to return until get a good job in Canada.
