Regarding Work permit

Hello Sir/Madam,
I am international student from India, currently staying in Toronto my visa and study permit is going to get over in March 2013, and i am planning to go Alberta in May, so it is possible that i can apply open work permit after May or before my study permit gets over.Whats the processing time?

You can apply for Post graduate work permit only after you have graduated from your program. Once you are done with exams and gets results , you can get a confirmation letter from the college. Based on the letter you can apply for post gradute work permit. The processing time can be checked online @ cic.gc.ca..

Yeah thats right sir,
But my issue is i am doing one course from outside the college i.e CSC i might complete in this January but my visa and study permit is going to get over by March and i want to go Alberta in May so it is possible to apply work permit in May without visa and study permit yes or no?

If you will apply while your study permit is valid that will be easier,,,,,,but if you applied while your study permit has expired , you will have implied status......You do not need visa to apply for work permit...u just need valid study permit
