Hi everyone, do share your taughts on this, it would be really helpful.
I have recently graduated a two year back to back course for Post Graduation Diploma
I will soon be applying for my Work Permit and it’s shown in cic website that I can start working full time as soon as I submit my application for processing, however, the employers are asking for an actual work permit, so that’s what bothering me, as receiving an actual work permit takes around 200 days
Any opinions ? Thanks a lot

Thanks for your reply
So it means that I cannot work for like 200 days until I receive my permit ? Wouldn’t it be better if I just go back to my home country and apply for work Permit from there ? I can do so according to cic website

You can work ofcourse but they dont provide any documents so you show your employer
Some employers dont ask for ur official work permit ( like restaurants

Thanks once again for your time to respond.
I just enquired and what I got to know is that half of them say it’s fine after submitting as I will be on implied status whereas the other half I enquired needs the actual work permit

It's strange that your employers are asking for an actual work permit. As long as you have submitted your PGWP application, you are entitled to work.

Thank you so much for your time to respond .
Yeah I know it’s strange, but some of them really don’t have an idea about it, even after convincing them, they are not willing to accept without a work Permit with six months of validity

Yeah its a problem a lot of ignorant employers, you can of course go home and apply from there if that's better for you, but we don't know what the situation about coming back and travel restrictions will be.

And is it ok if I apply for my pgwp inside Canada and then go back to my home country. My trv has already expired, so I think I could renew it from abroad as soon as I get my application approved in Canada

Its ok but the PGWP will be sent to the Canadian address so you gotta figure out how to manage that.

Hi, thanks for the advise
But isn’t it enough if we just submit an approval letter in order to renew the trv in my home country or will they ask for the actual permit sent to Canadian address ?

I am sure you can get a job with just your SIN number without actually providing the work permit document
