Dear Everyone,

My mother wants to visit me (Canada) in May . She already has candian visitor visa (expiring in Aug). She is planning to apply for visitor visa as her present visa will be less than 6 months. She is planning to stay here for 6 months.
I have applied for sponsorship of my mother and it is in pending stage (in Process).
Do you think that there will be problem in getting visitor visa as i have applied for her sponsership?
Also in the Application form should she answer as Yes or No for the question "Has your Immigration been applied? " as i have just applied for sponsership yet. Pls suggest.
Any experiences / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Amit

If her visa is valid till Aug 2010, she does not need to renew it. Normally visitors are allowed 6 months for their visit starting the day they arrive in Canada. So if your Mom arrives in Canada in May, technically she can stay till November if there is no other date written on the stamp apart from her arrival date.

Thanks for the reply. In case she wants to go for Visa then what she should answer in the visitor Application form regarding "Has immigration been applied ?" Please suggest.

Thank you so much for all the help.

Regards,

Amit

If you had filed to sponsor her then answer yes. Your application will already be in the data base. But why would you want to waste the visa she has now? It is still valid for 5 months. If you want her to stay longer then you can request for an extension when she's already in Canada.

visit visa -application for immigration

Hello every1,

I have applied my initial application for immigration for Canada in March 02, 2010.But i wana visit Canada in June- july on visitirs visa.
Does any 1 know that iff I APPLY for visit visa , WLL THAT HAVE ANY BEARING ON MY IMMIGRATION-APPLICATION OR WILL THAT HURT OR AFFECT MY IMMIGRATION-APPLICATION FOR CANADA ???

Regards

You should start a new thread for a new question.

Apply for a TRV will have no affect on your PR application.

However, the reverse is not the case. If they know you have a PR application in progress, they will be less likely to approve the TRV.
