Dear Experts/Members,

I have applied for EE excluding my spouse recently through CIC website and my CRS score is 341.She will not accompanying me as she is pursuing her masters. My question is that, Does it helps to improve my score and chances to get an invitation if I update my spouse education in my EE profile, even if she is not accompanying me?Does it create any misrepresentation?

Looking forward to hear from you.

Regards,

Your spouse can chose not to travel with you but it is vital to include him/her in your application. Not including his/her name will be a misinterpretation. Having said that, to get points for your spouse education, you will have to get a ECA done and yes this will boost your score by few points.

You can also ask your spouse to take IELTS exam and this will help you get few more points.

Dear Stanger,

Thank You Very much for your advice. But one thing confusing is that in the CIC website, there are two tables for points per factor

1) with a spouse
2)with out spouse

and with out spouse .it is shown like a 10 point advantage in most of the factors: for example for core/human capital factors max ponts with spouse is 460 and without spouse is 500. Will u advice on this?

Only unmarried/widowed/divorced/legally separated applicants can apply as Single. Their points calculation is different from the points calculation for married applicants. If you're married, you have the choice of applying with your spouse listed as 'Not accompanying'. In such a scenario, your points will be calculated as if you are a single applicant - this is so because only you will be granted PR not your spouse. However, if you list spouse as 'Not accompanying', you cannot get points based on their education, language skills or Canadian work experience.

I am also applying without a spouse and mentioning I am married. She will not accompany me this time as has to care of my mother.

How easy it is to get PR for her and my child once I have got the PR?
