Regarding the PAL/TAL

Hi Everyone!

I have a question regarding study permit extension. I'm currently international student at Red Deer Polytechnic college and study permit going to be expire. I want to apply for extension. So I have a question regarding the PAL/TAL. Do I need the PAL/TAL for study permit extension?

Actually I changed the college in last summer 2024

When did you start studying in Canada? Did you complete a semester at the first school? Did you inform IRCC about your change of school?

In September 2024 yes I completely the first sem and not informed yet to the ircc

So if you changed DLIs without informing IRCC then you are studying without a permit. What school is on your permit? If you changed DLIs you need a new study permit and are not extending.

That is my previous college cambria Surrey and I have done the study from there but my study permit will be expire on September 2025

So did you notify IRCC or not when you changed schools? If you didn’t you are studying without a permit. You need a new permit.

So you are studying illegally. Previous college should have notified IRCC that you left to cancel your permit. You cannot extend a permit. You need a new study permit with PAL. Talk to your school advisors ASAP to say your study permit is not in that school’s name and you didn’t notify IRCC.
