Hello Everyone,

I have a question about the PCC that my fiance who is in India needs to get for her PR application.

I am a PR holder living in canada but my parents live in chandigarh.
My fiance is presently living in Faridabad and already has a passport with her present family name and address on it.
I will be getting married on 9th July.
After getting married she will be moving to Chandigarh to livewith my parents for the time being.

Now I have the following questions

1) How necessary is to get the Last name changed on her passport.
2) If we get the last name changed, do we also have too get the address changed to chandigarh.
3) Where will she have to get the PCC from ?
Chandigarh ( where she has lived for maybe a month by the end of July) or from Faridabad (where she has lived all her life)

Thanks,

Thanks,
its not important at all to change last name on passport and she can get PCC from her passport office, it takes only less than 1 hour
important thing is dont move back to canada right after marriage but spend some time together and go to honeymoon, take pictures and hotel bills :) its necessary then apply for her PR.
congrats for your marriage :)

hey,

Thanks for the reply dear.

Another question I would like to ask is that what is the procedure for PCC as my Fiancée lives in Faridabad? Her passport was made in New Delhi.

As far as I remember, you need to go to the local police station and ask them for the PCC. Generally each VISA office provides the instructions on how to obtain the PCC. I am from Faridabad and I think when I applied for my PR they Immigration office sent that request to the police station.

Yes i know as i got my PCC from chandigarh police and not from the chandigarh passport office. but i think it is quicker to get it from the passport office.
