Hi Guys,

I have few questions regarding parents super visa and sponsoring them for PR. Any help is appreciated.

1) Supervisa: After my parents get the super visa by 1 year insurance policy , do I need to renew parents insurance every year as a mandatory thing? What if they are in good health and I am ready to take the risk of having them in Canada without insurance?

2) For sponsoring my parents for PR do I need three years of Canadian income of a certain threshold as a mandatory document at the time of initial application? Anyways they are going to take years to open my application, is it ok if I submit my application without this document and give it to them in 2 years time because I do not have that much history in Canada? Is there any other work around? Since its going to take 10 years for parents PR, I want to start the process ASAP.

Thanks

Not sure about #1, but for #2 yes you must show 3 years of Canadian income meeting LICO, at time of application. To not do so will result in your application being returned.

If you want to apply in Jan 2016, that means showing Option C/NOA from the CRA for 2012, 2013 and 2014.

1) You need to continue the insurance policy if you want the Super Visa to be renewed /extended. Also, unless you are a multi-millionaire - you should have the insurance to protect yourself and your family. All it would take is one car accident to cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars if your parents are in Canada uninsured. It's a very stupid risk to take.

2) What Rob_TO said. You can't apply until you have three full years of income that meets LICO. If you do as you have suggested, it's guaranteed your application will be refused. You have no choice but to wait. There is no work around.

Thanks Scylla and Rob_To for the info. I have few more follow up questions

For Supervisa:

1) We will be getting the super visa for 10 years as I have passport that is 10 years valid. The initial requirement to get visa is to have insurance policy from Canadian company, what if after one year I get a new policy from a non canadian insurance company? I researched few companies back home and they provide cheap policies, nearly 50% price of Canadian companies.

2) Also is it mentioned somewhere that when I apply for renewal or extension of super visa, I have to present the history of all my back 10 years of insurance policy? Can't I just present new insurance policy at that time and get the visa?

3) I understand the risk of not having insurance and staying in Canada but what if parents during one of the visits in 10 years long period, they just decide to come for 2 weeks rather than 2 years and I opt not to have insurance for that particular visit only?

For Parents PR:
1) Thanks I got that for 3 years I need to show Canadian income meeting LICO. Does these three years needs to be continuous?

2) If I want to apply in Jan 2016, that means showing proofs from 2012, 2013, 2014 or from 2013, 2014, 2015?

Must be continuous years. As mentioned above, if intending to apply in Jan 2016 it must be from 2012, 2013 and 2014. Only CRA tax return documentation is allowed for income proof.

You can't use 2015 info because on Jan 4, 2016 nobody will have their CRA tax returns for 2015 finished yet.

If you don't want the insurance to be mandatory, just get them a regular TRV.
