HI every one

I am an orthopedic doctor contracted with Attorney David Cohen for applying for express visa to canada according to the contract I paid him 1000 dollar 2 months ago

he just ask me to fill a portal .canadavisa with my document and they check it from time to time.

till now I almost finished all required documents except the or ECA Rport form the physisicanapply and i think it will take time till they send the report.

NOW he is asking for the next 1000 dollar although he is not taking any real action for the visa just mailing between me and his assistant

So any one know will it cost me any more money or just this till I get the visa and land their or he will ask me any other "hidden fees"
and will he will said that this is exter job and needs more fees
thank you to all

You should have read the terms of contract before signing, doc.

Reputable lawyers are not cheap. And all lawyers charge in instalments.

On average, it costs around 3000. You may expect one more installment.

Hi,

I have used Campbell Cohen Law firm as well (assuming it is the same one you are talking about). I have been very successful with them and have received my visa just few weeks back.

You have to pay in installments and that is clearly mentioned in the contract you signed with them.

The first installment you paid was to initiate the contract. Based on the contract you will have to pay the 2nd installment either before Express Entry submission or 60 days whichever is earlier. I think as far as I understand, your express entry profile has not been submitted yet (mostly because all documentation is not in place, right?). In that case, if you have passed 60 days from the time you signed the contract, youwill have to pay the 2nd installment fees. There is no 'hidden fees', it should be all mentioned in the contract.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I'm using Campbell Cohen myself for my EE application as well as for my PNP. For the EE application I believe there are 2 instalments and if you complete a year without an ITA I believe there might be a retainer to re-file your application.

Hi Sam Ortho,

David's assistant has just sent me the respond for what you wondered, also my wonder. He said "Our law firm’s fees to pursue an application for Canadian permanent residence for candidates who receive an invitation to apply under Express Entry are currently $1,495 USD. This option is outside of the expression of interest ($1990).
It means after EE submission fee of $1990 and you get the ITA to pursue permanent resident, you have to pay more
$1.495, excluding Governmental fees (required) that you have to pay on your own.

You can email them to question about it.

Good luck!
