Hello people!

I have enrolled in a post graduate program (two years) at Centennial College, Progress Campus. I got my study permit and TRV. Now am concerned about a few things, if possible kindly show me the way;

1) I am searching for an economical and convenient place to say, I don't mind sharing the room. I have spoken to centennial residence but they are full for the year. Now am confused, where to apply and whom to consulr regarding the same. I am also bad at cooking so I would like you to comment on meals as well ;D

2) My orientation is on 3rd but I have learned from a few that it's better to arrive at least 20 days in advance so that we can get familiar with the place and also do the other formalities, like GIC account opening and college registration etc, please let me know about this as well.

3) About clothing, I know that Toronto can be cold at times, so shall I purchase warm clothes from here or is it better to get it there itself.

These are the things which I am confused about, but apart from these if there is anything that I need to know then please share that as well. I would be obliged.

Thanking you all in advance. :)

Congrats dude!

1). For staying you can scout toronto.craigslist.ca/, torontoroommates.ca/, http://www.kijiji.ca/ find apartments that match your requirements. By the way you must take care that you must not be too far from sky train if you can not find accommodation near campus.

2). yeah it is better to arrive a month earlier to get familiar with public transportation, university services access, campus, your community and other important stuff.

3). Well if you are living in a country in Asia, it is definitely best time to buy warm clothes, off season sales and otherwise cheaper clothes including branded ones. But you must buy some clothes with enhanced thermal protection and needless to say dont compromise on quality.

All the best!

Congratulation for your visa !!!

For accommodation is not that difficult. Just follow centennial grop on Facebook n ask one of the current student for accommodation. There is plenty of available place once you arrive so just get arrange for temporary.
Of course, it's better to come early so you can enoy a glimps of summer coz after that it will cold weather. And arriving earlier will help you to get settle.

About clothes, depends on your budget. But make sure you buy at lest one winter jacket and boots for initial survival. Once you get settle here, it's good to buy Canadian clothes which suitable for Canada's weather.

P.s I'm just staying 15 mints away from your campus.
