Hi guys,
I want a bit of advice if I can. In a sticky situation and not sure what to do.
Applied for working visas from Australia with my partner.
Partners has come through fine, mine came back asking for more information in regards to 2 convictions 6 and 8 years ago.
1 was drunk and disorderly, the 2nd a public nuisance. Both times small $100 fines is all.
Sent in court docs and VISA was refused.
I then spoke with someone here at the consulate in Australia, and only then was i advised i need to apply for a criminal rehabilitation to be eligible to be able to enter Canada. Problem is that they say can take 8 weeks on average.
Once that comes back I can then apply for a working Visa again. And looking at the website there are very limited spots left.
Now, i have flights booked for december with my partner who has a job starting on the 4th while i have a few interviews etc lined up for work that week also. I know booking flights etc was not a good idea, but i honestly didn't even think that this would be a problem.
My question is, what will happen when i fly into vancouver if this criminal rehab does not come back before hand?
Will i be turned away for 2 of the smallest convictions when i was 18?
Am i able to apply for a tourist visa?
I do also hold a european passport, is there anything wrong with my trying to enter on that as a tourist when i arrive?
It being a different passport etc to my Aus one I assume nothing will "flag" up?
I could then apply for work visa, and when that comes through leave and reenter when its come back?
Sorry for the novel, but i am really lost. And really in some need of some direction and assistance!
