Hi,

I applied for supervisa for my mom and she received a letter stating that I did not meet the LICO requirement which I believe I am above the LICO for 3 years. My minimum income each year since 2016 was $26,000. I am single and alone here in Canada. I also provide my 3 months bank statement, paystub, I have my full time job.

Should I re-apply again? Or do I need to wait for another year?

Does my status as a single person affect my sponsorship?

Can I apply for my mom as a visitor if I did not meet the requirements for supervisa? It’s my mother’s dream to come here in Canada

Your answers will be much appreciated

Thank you

My t4 for 2017 was $36K but on my NOA was $27k because I’m also entrepreneur. My 2018 was $47k on t4 but is NOA was $27K.

The LICO must include your mother in the family unit. You'd be supporting her here. So therefore, you need to be able to afford a family size of two.

Unfortunately it's based on the NOA.

You can try and apply for her as a visitor but now she will have to show sufficient fund for travel related expense and ties to her home country. You can include an invite letter to help the case. Good luck!
As for minimum income requirement, you always have to include the person you want to invite/sponsor.

Does it work differently for self-employed? I thought receiving a t4 means you work for someone else. Why didn't the amount on t4 match with NOA?

If you own your own company and you pay yourself you issue yourself a T4. If you run your business funds through yourself and not a corporation, you may not have a T4.

Because I’m an entrepreneur. If only it will be based on my t4, maybe there’s some other ways too
