Ive posted in the appeal thread, yet not getting any luck with the info im looking for.
My husbands application was refused in October. The reasons were 1) i am still married to another person (due to missing death certificate) and 2) not genuine.
I applied for the appeal immediately.
Heres my confusion. I thought i was to have a wait of 120+ days for the first response from the IAD, where i would get a "blue book".
I recieved a response within a week. The letter i recieved stated the reasons for refusal, and they stated they were dismissing the non genuine issue.
Basically their concern was for me to prove my previous spouse has in fact passed away. We were not given a PFL requesting this at any time, we were just flat out refused
The letter asked for me to submit evidence and documents by mid January, which i did.
Does everyone get this initial letter when appealing? My thoughts were that i wouldnt hear from them for months, but did immediately.
What happens next?
