Refugees- Lawyer Location

Hi all,

Please I need your help or input. Am at a point were I want to submit my application as a refugee and pick a lawyer. But my place of location is different from were I would like to pick an immigration lawyer.

I heard Ontario lawyers are good with refugee applications than in Manitoba.
I would be residing in Manitoba.

Should I put in the application in Manitoba and then use a lawyer in Ontario or put in the application in Ontario?

If you are paying for you own lawyer you can choose who you want although it is much better to live closer to your lawyer because they need to attend the hearing and meet with you to prepare your case. It will be very expensive if you have to pay for your lawyer to travel to your hearing. If you are using legal aid you must use a lawyer in the province where you live.
