Good Evening,

I wanted to know if it's possible for a refugee claimant who has not yet gone to their hearing to apply for any immigration pilot programs such as the AIPP, RNIP, Agri-Food Pilot, etc

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Agree the answer is no. Once you have claimed asylum you no longer qualify to apply for any of these programs. You would need to leave Canada if you want to qualify now.

okay, thank you for responding. Just out of curiosity, let’s say you were underage and under your mom’s claim that got rejected. If you left Canada at the appropriate date and 5+ have passed. Are you then eligible to apply to any immigration programs now independently, now that you’re much older and will your parent’s previous rejected claim negatively affect you?

You can certainly apply for an immigration program once you are outside of Canada.

There is no requirement to wait 5 years.

You will need to declare the failed asylum application in your application and go through the ARC process which will take additional time and fees. However you should have no issues being approved as long as you fully declare your immigration history in Canada (including any refugee claims your parents made that you were part of).
