All my references no longer work at the companies I used to work at. I have reference letters on company letterheads but the email address of the referees are personal and I have given their mobile numbers. The company contact number and website are on the footer of the letterhead. Is it okay to give personal contact details of the referees since they have now moved on to other jobs. They don't have their business cards. Is submitting business cards essential?

Get reference letters from company through HR's. Most of the companies provide.
If you are not in position to get one then get reference letters from your ex-colleagues with their phone numbers. If possible get reference letters from current employees of your ex-companies!

Do not forget to write a LOE to explain with strong reason why you got reference letters from people who are not currently with that company nor HR.
As supporting documents, get the ex-colleague relieving letter for reach reference letter you submit!

Cheers!

Thanks for your response. My line managers left the company after I did. They know me, my duties and responsibilities better than the HR whom I have hardly met. Is it a strong enough reason to mention in the LOE that I have taken the reference letters from the people who were my line managers at the time but now have moved on to other jobs and therefore, the contact details are their personal ones? Would this be a reason for rejection?

No, but maybe get an up to date "facts" letter from HR as well?

I would get the letter from your former colleagues (because they knew your jobs well as they were your immediate managers). In addition, get a letter from the HR testify your period of employment in the company. Finally, go to notary public and take the oath that the first set of letters were letters from your former colleagues/immediate supervisors who are currently no longer work in the company. You include letters from them (instead of current managers from the current company) because your former immediate managers would know your job the best. Of course, include the contact information of your former immediate managers and your current HR department, so that CIC may contact them directly in case they want to.

Thanks for your reply. Do they need to be dated with a current date? Also, for the dates of employment, do they need to be mm/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy?

My ref betters were not dated currently. CIC was fine with it.
