Dear All

I have worked with one of the big4 accounting firms for 2y 9m after my graduation and post my MBA I joined another firm and now am back at the same big4 accounting firm in another division. Now the issue is if I ask my former manager for a reference letter he has to inform the HR who will take it forward but that will affect my current employment too. I don't know how to prove the job responsibilities. Although I have the below documents pertaining to my previous stint of 2y 9m, I am unsure if that is enough:
  • Job description shared at the time of interview (Does't have the company's branding)
  • Offer letter
  • Confirmation letter
  • Manager feedback mails (Taken for B-school application)
  • Last performance appraisal snapshot (which has counsellor feedback and client feedbacks and my rating)
  • Relieving letter
  • Salary slips
  • Bank statement (will have to get it from bank)
Are these documents enough to prove my employment and NOC code? If not then what are the substitutes that would really work in this situation wherein I can't tell the HR however am very close to my previous manager who can give me anything on personal note without the branding of that company

Look forward to inputs

You can use a letter from your previous manager stating that he worked for the company in past, along with his business card and have it attested, this is what I am doing along with pay stubs, tax returns etc. I think you have good supporting documentation. Wait for input from experienced members also.

Hi Thanks for your reply. Even he is working with the same firm in the same role as before. It is just me who has changed his role/department post MBA. Also attestation by whom would work?

Oh great, you can definitely get a reference letter from your ex supervisor and if he is working in the same company, have him write it on a company's letterhead and get his business card along with it ( no attestation needed in this case).
If he can not write on a letterhead then you should consider getting reference letter notarized by a notary.
