Reference Letter requested twice in work permit application?

Hi all,

I'm a UK graduate student applying for a work permit for a short-term academic research visit to McGill, and I'm a little confused by what seems to be a request for duplicate information. A required document for my application is an "Employment Reference Letter", which must "...be written on company letterhead, show the company's full address and telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company's official seal.." along with containing information on the specific period of employment, positions held, roles and responsibilities, annual salary and signature of immediate supervisor. However, the required documentation for "Employment Records" also states that proof of work experience from one's current job must include a reference letter which "should be an official document printed on company letterhead", and should contain company contact details, information on positions held and dates, job title, roles and responsibilities, annual salary and signature of the immediate supervisor; i.e., exactly the same information requested in the reference letter section....!

My plan here was to simply submit the reference letter again in this section, merged with payment records to distinguish it from the previous reference letter section. If others have encountered this, then any advice or suggestions would be most welcome! :)

(P.S. - There's also a third request for similar information in a section requesting a "Letter from Current Employer", but I've obtained a letter from the director of my institute for this, rather than my immediate supervisor.)
