Hey there,

My reference letter that I got from the HR department of my company has everything which is asked in the document checklist reference letter column but the NOC code. My HR manager hasn't mentioned the NOC code in the letter. Because he wasn't aware of it. so is that okay? or Do I have to get another letter again from HR just for one NOC code?? because it is declared in the document checklist that 'reference letter must include corresponding NOC code (IF KNOWN) ..!! so now I am confused here..!

Thanks for your help..!!

There is no need for the reference letter to include a NOC code.

NOC code is not mandatory on the reference letter as long as your letter has all the details of your job which are requested in the check list.
for the Family information sheet: No... just names are required to be written on your native language

I believe the purpose of mentioning the NOC is for the VO to quickly do a match with the duties in that NOC and decide whether they match or not....But if you dont out the NOC they would look at your responsibilities and then match which NOC code is applicable to you....You know humans have a tendency to work less 8) ...by not menting the NOC u r increasing the work of the VO ;D

On a serious note....if you are 100% sure of the NOC and that your responsibilities match with it I think you should mention the NOC code...because I feel that it removes any confusion as in the IT side these NOC codes are overlapping...Responsibilities of one also afll under the other...so If you are leaving it for the VO to decide then we dont know what we would assume.....I am not saying that he doesnt know anything and that he would assume it wrongly...but its better to give him the NOC code if you are sure of..

Actually it is easier than that for the VO, you list the NOC that you are applying under. The VO then checks the Reference letter duties against the duties in the NOC. So there is no requirement to have the NOC in the reference letter.

alright.. I understand what the meaning of adding NOC in the reference letter.

So, my reference letter is ready. now only NOC code remains. so instead of getting a new letter again, can I write my NOC code on the letter using my pen?
or I can attach a small piece of paper saying my NOC code is ####.
Because I am sure of my NOC code. I sent my duties to NOC - working in canada department and they guys replied me with my NOC code. I've that email too.
So either I can write it down on the letter by myself or attach a piece of paper.

Thank you all for your kind help..!!

You have to specify your NOC on "Schedule 8-Economic Classes-Canadian Experience Class." That is what the VO will go by...
