A friend of mine signed a contract with Company A, but his work site is based in Company B's office, and reports to Company B's manager.
But from the legal perspective, Company A extended the offer, signed the contract with them, receives salary from them and at the end of the year T4 is also generated by them.
He is not sure whether he should get the Reference Letter from the company A's manager or company B's? or both?
And when inputting in the EE system, which company's name should he input? A or B?
Options:
1. Company A: No matter who the client is, Company A is his employer. So, a reference letter with all details should be sufficient.
2. Company B: Doesn’t matter who pays him, the company he reports to has better idea of this responsibilities, so getting a reference letter from Company B makes more sense.
3. From Both: Company A who is the actual employer to confirm pay, hours and responsibilities and Company B confirming his responsibilities.
