Hi there,

I have two employee reference letters from companies that I worked on my country. I'm gonna use them to prove my foreign work experience. Both letters were written in English. However, the annual income was not converted to Canadian Dollar.
In this case, do you guys recommend me to do something specific or just keep this way?

Second question is that I requested these letters in 2014 and 2015. Do you think it would be a problem? Should I request the companies to update the letters before I send them?

Thank you!

The issue date of the letter does not matter. As long as they have all the requested details on them.

In terms of currency, I am not 100% sure, but I have previously done the following used past currency converter oanda and attached a print out of what the amount was in US/CA dollars.

Can other confirm?

Thank you! So basically what you recommend me is to write a letter or something like that adding the convertion for each company, right?

Just keep them that way, it is not required to convert to CAD (although hopefully the currency is specified in the letter).

They don't necessarily need to be "new" letters, but the letters should cover the length of experience you are claiming (e.g. dated on or after your last day).

For example - say you worked for Company A from January 2 2012 to February 2, 2014 - 25 months (2+ years). You will get full credit for that time if the letter is written on February 2, 2014 or later. However, if for some reason the letter was written in December 1, 2013 - it does not cover the final two months. So the letter only attests to 23 months, and you might only get credit for 1 year.

Hope this makes sense ...

1. The currency is specified in the letter. :)

2. All the details are covered in both letters.

Thank you very much!

1. Letter issue dates are fine, no need to get fresh letters.

2. Currency of annual income from salary need not be converted to CAD

Hi Seniors!

My Reference letter was electronically signed(using device) not manually signed by my boss but it has stamp and print on company header.. is that ok?

Thanks!

Many companies which have offices across geographies have the practice of electronically signing any letter. As far as all the required information is there in the letter, you are good to go.
