Reconsideration request inquiry

Hello,
I am preparing a reconsideration request for a family member after receiving ATIP response. The original invitation was for attending an event which already took place. But we would like the family member to visit us for a family reunion. Should we mention a new event for which the visa officer should reconsider the application? Or it does not really matter?

If the Visa officer finds the refusal grounds made in the original application invalid, will they fix it by issuing the Visa? Or will they treat the original invitation not valid anymore as the event date is over?

Looking forward to some expert's opinion. Thanks a lot in advance!

What were reasons for refusal? If you received ATIP response then reconsideration may be too late. Application was to attend an event so reapply if now wants to visit family.
