Recieved approval what next?

Good Afternoon everyone! I went to my mailbox today and my approval for my husband to sponsor me was approved! I can also see my application online as well in process yay!! This comes a day after my husband leaves for Canada to start his new job and find us a home while I stay here in the States to pack up our house and work at my job here for now. My question, how long after you receive your sponsorship approval does it take to have the rest of the application processed? I am just meaning in general of course as I am aware that everyone might be in a different situation

Congrats on your entrance to stage 2 . From what you've said, I'm guessing you're American and your app is in Ottawa? Have a look at the Ottawa thread and spreadsheet (in the signature of many of the Ottawa posters), it will tell you the timelines of others. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/cppottawa-t118769.3000.html

I will add that due to the strike action at the moment, your app might be delayed. The posted processing times and the previous processing times of the others might not accurately reflect what your processing time will be, especially if the strike continues.

Stage 2??? oh boy You are correct and I am Amercian and my App is in Ottawa and from the link you gave me it states 12 months so my question now would be, 12 months from the application date? Or 12 months from the date of sponsor letter?

and it feels better to be ahead a little bit as each step has taken 2 times to get though, finger prints, medicals, and I forgot to sign one page!!!! So its nice to finally get something right! lol

That processing time actually starts when Ottawa receives your app from Mississauga. It doesn't mean it takes 12 months to process an app; it means that it takes them 12 months to process 80% of apps. So a lot are actually processed before then. Another thing to mention... from looking at the spreadsheet, the average time from submission to landing lately is sitting around 200 days. So that can give you a general idea of when to see it over if everything goes smoothly.

It's July and I'm still waiting on movement and my first stage approval was in February, so you might have a good little wait, but you might be extremely lucky.

That said, I might be wrong but I hope you werent thinking that it was over this fast and already packing up to get ready to move Some people are still waiting from last year.
