Hi All,

I am 32 years old, and I am just getting my birth certificate issued. Would CHC accept this? Or what are the alternatives?

Thanks
Saim

As long as it is correct, it does not matter old issued birth certificate or newly issued. I met someone here in Canada ( NEW PR) , he is 45 and his birth certificate issuance date is 2009.

Thanks explorer101,

I was concerned about the following (from the visa office specific instructions):

"A birth certificate is normally acceptable if registration was made shortly after the birth."

your case should not be new, 95% of the people born before 1982 in India do not have the birth certificates.

Most of the people get the Birth certificate issue as a special request to Municipal Corporation which is 100% legal and acceptable

Date of certificate 'issued' is not important. I attached birth certificates for me and my family dated Dec. 2009. We get as many birth certificates as you want by paying 15 Rs. /certificate. So I attached all original copies(it was cheaper than the cost of notarization) and accepted by CHC. What is wrong in that? All the information in birth certificate will remain same(e.g., date of birth, place, registration no, father's name etc.) except date of issuance.

@ msaim

Registeration means the entry of one's birth event on the Birth Register. That should be within some due date granted by that perticular Registering authority.

The Birth Certificate is a certificate verifying that someone's birth has been registered with us at such & such date (within that given specified time). It is just a copy of the record and can have any date of issuance.

I hope it helps.

Always Hopeful
