There are no timelines when it comes to CIC. I got full RQ a year back and have not been called for a test by Scarborough CIC office. It all depends on your luck and the officer assigned to your file. My advice is just don't worry about it and let it take its own course. There is absolutely nothing you can do here. Just my 2 cents

- Sometimes I see such injustice in Canada that I am shocked, just imagine, they keep somebody in process for reading his documents for 48 months !!! and then at the end they give him citizenship, why nobody has ever talked loudly about it ?
- Do you seriously think this is so routine in other countries too ?
- They simply keep you another 36 months, so even if you had applied fraudulently, now after 36 months waiting you filled necessary time again

CIC has their own procedures and there may be some small point which they're not sure about - say some date where they don't have a record or officer can't make a reasonable assumption. Then he/she will ask for RQ.
My case, applied in June 2013 . Wife got RQ in 2014 March. Sent all docs and she got small RQ in May for specific docs. Replied that then she got letter for fingerprints. Did that then both of us got test/interview letter in July 2014. All this time, no RQ for me.
Then this year got RQ for myself in May and sent all docs in June. Finally got DM on our ecas in early Nov.
I have given you some advice in your other posting re: medical records. Hope you have seen that.

I can add one more thing. When you send the RQ back, make sure you add a cover letter and explain in detail all your trips outside of Canada and any other relevant points such as about your job, where you stay, if you moved - why etc etc. I had been making excel file of all our trips since coming here 10 years ago so I sent all of that data too. My letter was about 5 pages long. The idea is that if the person seeing your RQ has any question, he/she can refer to your cover letter for an answer and hopefully the processing is faster.

In case they asked for passport photocopies ( which they did for both of us), then suggest go to Staples and do color photocopy of each page. It's more expensive but super clear and detailed.

We are standing on the outside so we don't know what procedures CIC has to follow. Let's be patient and let them do their job properly and carefully. I'm sure in a year you would have come to the end of the journey. Good luck

orodeshah - I had an identical case like yours. Full RQ post test. This was in Jul 27. On Dec 15, I became Canadian. It actually took only two months for my decision to be made. Now every case is unique, but the reason why I got an RQ was two fold: (1) I was unemployed for the first year of my PR (2) I did not declare a trip I made due to CBSA not stamping my passport on entry to the country (so in effect, I forgot about that trip).

For the first case, I gave mounds of documentation to prove I was here (statements, mobile phone records etc etc). For the second case, I was able to demonstrate that my passport was not stamped, and I wrote them a nice letter apologizing for the mistake. Lots of people told me that this would not help - but I spoke to a lawyer who said that CIC is quite forgiving in this respect.

So in conclusion, it is in your interest to complete the RQ. With the new structure in place at CIC, it should not take two years (in the past, it had to go through a series of three people culminating in a judge - now, it is just handled by one person, and only gets escalated if they feel it needs escalation).

So do it. If you want to see what I did for my RQ, read about it here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/missing-stamp-on-entry-to-canada-resulted-in-a-rq-t346474.0.html;msg4763118#msg4763118

Lastly, this forum is filled with people who have a grudge against CIC. So take people's advice, but also know that there are trolls out there. Good luck.

What information/documents are usually requested in the RQ? If you don't get one during the interview can you get one later if you fail to provide certain information like a missing stamp

@Orodeshah, if you got sufficient number of days and eligible under the new rules, consider re-applying instead of waiting indefinitely.
Unless you are very sure you have enough days ie more than 1095 days and not on borderline.

Logically, CIC should check the eligibility immediately upon receipt of application and return any ineligible application with 3 months.

It defies any logic why CIC takes months / years to process the applications, invites for test, then asks for RQ and then most of the cases are schedule hearing with judge. Its ploy to keep the candidates waiting for no reason, waste their time & country's resources.

Chances that the CIC might still schedule hearing with Citizenship judge, they are quite notorious for that.

Had endure such torturous situation, after close to 4 years, they schedule hearing with Citizenship Judge. Then, the judge refused to review the doc's stating I dont have time and literally forced me to re-apply, stated its much faster that way.

Had I known this damn mischief, I would have withdrawn and re-applied over 2 years back and got citizenship by now.

Please evaluate your situation carefully & take necessary action.
