please help me with this,, I received my passport together with my immigrant visa on it last July 4 from the visa office here in the Philippines.. The problem is that the expiry date written on the passport is already expired.. The expiry date written there is june24 2015. I had my medical last February 22, 2015.. If I am not mistaken,, the expiry date should be at least 1year after the medical exam. And the 1st letter that I received from the visa office stated there that the visa that I will receive will expire on feb2016 which is totally different and far from what is stamped on my passport.. Please give me some advice on what I should do to solve this problem. Have u ever encountered problem as such? Thanks!
Two things you can do:
1. Reply to the email address (CEM) used to communicate with you, and include the scanned copies of the visa issued to you and the PPR letter. Highlight the visa expiry date mentioned in the PPR letter and its difference with the visa expiry date. This indicates you are emphasizing an error made by them (CEM). Also, affix to the subject line: URGENT.
Likely, affter this they will contact you, and will request to re-submit the PPs for change in the visa affixed to the PPs.
2. If you are able to drop by CEM (if you are in Manila), do so, and request to see an official. There is normally a long line and you will be asked what is the nature of your visit/request to see an official. Just mention to the security desk there are errors in the issued official documents. You will have to bring your passports, as well as other documentation you have (i.e. PPR letter, CoPRs) - you will need these to be presented. Normally you will be asked either to come back or have the PPs sent to your address after the rectification of the error.
This has happened before - and the applicant chose #2, and went to the embassy, and was successful in having the errors fixed.
