Received WP-EXT only except PGWP after applying for PGWP Extension

I received my initial PGWP for a shorter duration due to passport expiry date. Now I have applied for an extension and received a WP-EXT only except PGWP letter from IRCC which states that I can continue to work up until 180 days from the date of submission or until a decision is made.

My question is, what does " except PGWP" mean in this context? Does it mean that since I am on a PGWP this is not applicable to me or am I ready too much into it?

Has anyone ever faced this?

How did you get a letter since PGWP extension is a paper application? For paper applications, no letter is issued.
