Hi Everyone,

I received my ITA on 8th Feb, 2018. My application is complete as well to submit to CIC.
My police verification is scheduled for Feb 27th and I think I'll get my medicals done asap.

Basically by March, everything on my end would have been submitted. Now I am going to travel to Europe from April 15th - July 10th (almost 3 months)

Now in this period, if I am asked to submit my passport for processing the PR, how will I be able to do that? Also, is there a deadline to submit this? Do they consider an extension or will my application be rejected?

Please help.

If they ask for passport for PR visa stamping, you will be initially asked to submit it within 30 days. However you can ask them for an extension which will be based on your situation. It can be another 30 days or after your travel is over. I am not sure for how long they would agree to wait for your passport but 3 months of waiting might be a little too much for them.

While asking for extension, provide them your confirmed ticket and Schengen visa photo (if applicable) and explain the situation. You can request them to change your VO but this route might be risky as you will be traveling and should have passport with you throughout your travel. Worst case, you may have to reschedule you trip. Proceed with caution.

Thank you for this. Also, If I submit my application on like April 14th right before my trip, that ideally should give me more time before the passport request for stamping comes in right?

Any ideas of what is average time of this request after submission of documents (considering all my documents are in order?

Also, are there any other documents that I need to prepare before I go like digital photos and stuff so that when I'm not here, my parents can just login and upload.

Nobody can tell you the average time. It can be as soon as the same day or in several days after. If you check my signature stamp below, I submitted my US PCC on Dec 25 on 25th, 2017 (only document left to submit) and received PPR on Dec 27, 2017 (just 2 days after) but had an international trip scheduled on Dec 30, 2017. Even though my planned return was before my 30 days deadline, I asked for a reasonable extension and I was granted another 30 days. I have seen other people in this forum getting PPR in the same day as their PCC upload dates. I believe they continue with processing your originally submitted documents while they wait for your PCC, and send out PPR as soon as they receive PCC. But that prediction cannot be made.

You need to mail them Passport with 2 professionally taken photographs and Annex A (containing your details). You can google the specifications and prepare the photographs before your trip. Annex A will be provided with your PPR email. You do not have to upload anything.

Well I haven't uploaded any documents as of yet as I haven't accepted the PR. I have just filled in the details in that came up after getting the ITA. If I click submit I think that's when the acceptance comes into the picture. So If I utilize my 90 days of accepting the PR, things should move slowly for me right? And thanks for all the info. :)
