Hi,
I received an ITA on March 28th, 2018 draw and submitted the application on May 10th, 2018. On May 26th, I checked the application status and got the update that I have passed the medical examination. How much time will it take from here on to get an application approved? Want to get an estimate as I quit my job in January after working for 8 years. Currently, in a leisure mode. But if it takes more than 5-6 months to process the application I'll start looking for a job. Is it necessary to be employed during application approval phase to have a strong case?

From medical it could take 3 months to 12 months, it depends on lot of factors. i know of several people who are still waiting 17 months later. But those are rare cases where they are stuck in security checks
No need to be employed after you have submitted application and received AOR.

Depends on so many factors like your visa office, the security checks, etc. - normally most cases are wrapped up in 6 months. However, like @thestunner316 pointed, no one can be sure. Looking for a job now depends on you - if you can wait for say - 6-8 months - then no need to. Who knows, cic may surprise you & provide you with passport request in June!

Hello everyone, Please I have received ITA but my wife's ielts has expired, does it matter, though I am the PA and my test score is still valid

Hello everyone, Please I have received ITA but my wife's ielts has expired, does it matter, though I am the PA and my test score is still valid
it will matter if your wife's IELTS score contributed to your CRS due to which you got the ITA. if your CRS is below the ITA cut-off due to the expired IELTS you will need to decline the ITA. IELTS needs to be valid until the day of AOR.

IELTS Needs to be valid till you submit all documents... she has to write the exam again
