Hi,
I just realized I made a terrible mistake. I received an ITA on April 17th, and was so busy trying to arrange all the police certificates (from 4 different countries) and employment letters, that I did not realize my IELTS will expire on May 10th. I will not have done the medicals before then (they're scheduled for the week after) and might just get all the other documents by May 9th (just one translation missing).
Next available IELTS in May 30th (I'm in Calgary but willing to travel if I could get an earlier IELTS date). If I do the IELTS on May 30th, results will be online on June 12th or 13th. My ITA expires June 16th I believe (2 months)
I'd like any advice on how best to proceed. I believe my options are now:
1) Keep the ITA open, have medicals done (will cost me 700 CAD$), do the IELTS and update profile on June 13th (as soon as I get IELTS). If I don't lose points with the new IELTS results, I can submit the application with the new test. If I lose points and don't meet the threshold anymore, then I will have to decline and enter the pool again on June 17th.
2) Decline the ITA now and hope to get invited on the next draws. It will give me extra time to receive the IELTS. However, if I decline the ITA and enter the pool again, I may no longer qualify until I have the new IELTS results (does the system automatically update the profile once the IELTS expires ?). If this happen, I would only enter the pool again on June 13th. I would then also lost points for age (birthday in May) and may lost points if my IELTS results are not so good.
3) desperate move - try to arrange a medical appoint between now and Friday (May 9th) have it done, complete the application and submit it. Highly unlikely this is possible and will most certainly result in myself making mistakes.
It seems option 1 is my best bet so far. What do you guys think ? any advice ? any other options I missed ?
any help is mostly appreciated.
