Hello all,

I really need urgent help (advise) here. We have already received COPR with passports stamping but problem to enter Canada is health insurance for pregnant wife. She is 5 months pregnant and Ontario's waiting time is 3 months before insurance kicks in, so it will be risky to enter Canada without insurance.

My second option is to activate PR and come back to India but there will be huge problem of sponsoring child as parents need to be in Canada for sponsoring child. I have already raised couple Case specific Inquiries regarding this issue but only reply i got was - "Agent who contacted you on December XX, 2017, took action on your enquiry". Don't know what does that mean ?

Anyone has experience dealing with this kind of issue ? Would CIC allow to add child (once born) to the application ? Please advise. Any advise (help) will be much appreciated !! Thanks !

Why don't you buy travel insurance for the first three months in Canada and you're sorted. Many people do it to have access to healthcare before they are entitled to Canadian health insurance.

This is incorrect. Travel insurance will only cover emergency situation. Prenatal care and labour and delivery will not be covered. Your have a couple of options.

1. Depending on when you and your wife did their medical exams you can delay your landing until your wife has the baby and ads her to your application. You have to land within a year of your medical exam so that would only work your medical expires after your due date.
Your application will be delayed for a couple of months after your baby is born but then you can all leave together.

2. You and your wife can land in Canada and pay for the prenatal care and the birth. I would plan on 10K for prenatal care and birth although it could be more if she needs a c-section.

3. You could both land and return to India and have the baby. One parent can return to Canada and sponsor the baby for PR.
