Hi there forum members,

I'm hoping someone can help here as the CIC number isn't allowing me to connect to an agent for answers. I got through at one point to wait in line for 37 minutes but I had to cancel as I'm at work.

Here's the info

1. My wife from Japan applied for a permanent res outland as it was suggested last year being the faster of the two options.
2. She is currently here in Canada on a temporary visitor visa that's about to expire.
3. We just received her Confirmation of Permanent residence and now need to conduct the interview to finalize the PR documents.

My Question

I'm hoping that she won't have to cross the border for a minute and then turn around to get the interview and papers signed. Can anyone help us out here?

If you don't want to head to a border, you can make a request for a landing at an office within Canada. Follow the instructions here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=748&top=22

Note that it can take quite a few weeks to get a landing appointment. So if she wants to land immediately, the border is your best option.
