My wife and I applied for outland spousal sponsorship and last week got an email that looks like this:

UCI: XXXXXXX
Application No.: F00XXXXXXX
Quote these numbers when corresponding with our office.

Dear [Sponsor],

This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2019/07/05 on behalf of the following member(s):

This is the AOR, right? We now linked this application to our GCKey successfully.

When should we expect the request for giving the biometrics (BIL) and the medical? Also, will these be given via my GCKey account or will they be physical letters sent via mail?

Thanks!

Yes, that is the AOR. Since you have linked to GCKey, all requests (biometric, medical, additional documents if necessary) should go through GCKey. You'll receive an email when you have a new message about one of those requests.

As far as when to expect it...no one really knows. About a week after AOR my husband was approved as my sponsor, and then the next day I received medical request. Biometrics took extra time because I hadn't paid the biometric fee. All told it was within about 3 weeks of AOR that all both requests were received. However, some folks that applied in the same month as I did (June) have received their AOR and have heard nothing else in at least a months time. There is no guaranteed timeline.
