Received a request letter

Hi everyone!

Today I received an email about a new message, checked my account on cic and found a "Request letter".
It says the following:

Dear ...,
The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost concluded. You must complete the following steps within 60 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa. ...​

The progress bar in my account still shows 5 months to go and except for that letter, there is nothing new since biometrics completion. But in the letter, they seem to ask me to prepare photos and passport, go to the VFS and submit them for Visa,

Is this the PPR already? Or this is just another step and there is still a lot of waiting?
My doubt comes from the fact that it has been about 1 month after AOR and profile shows that it is still "in progress". Anyway, if it is PPR, then is there still chance that my application will be rejected?

The request is a message (a pdf file) in the account (under the Messages section). The email itself contains nothing. It is just a notification that there is a new message in my account.

Should I expect updates on all the fields (like Background Check, Eligibility, etc...) in my account?
Or they will only update once I get my passport back from them?

Seems legit. It was an email with a subject line "Ready for Visa" for me back in August 2017.

I think it takes a while for you to see updates. I just logged into my account (first time in over a year) and it looks quite different now. But it does show updated statuses.

Just follow the steps in the PDF. Congrats!

You are one of the luck guy. Because your application was approved within a first review. R10 , eligibility check ,security done at same time in CIO Sydney itself. Congratulations !!

Hi guys.
I still can’t believe this is happening. But I won’t settle until I see visa in my passport and a confirmation letter))

Despite having an abnormal title (just “Request letter”, not “Ready for visa” or sth like that), this is the PPR letter. The visa is on its way and I’d like to share passport processing timeline here.

The next day (Wednesday) after receiving the “Request letter” I went to VFS to submit my passport.
According to VFS, on Thursday, passport was already being processed at local VAC.
On Friday my application at cic website was updated and showed that it had been approved and the visa had been issued (this update was without email notification). Later on the same day, the status of my passport at VFS changed to “Collected from VAC”.
Now waiting for the CoPR letter to come and passport with visa.

They are working too fast. I’m really shocked.
