Hi Guys!
I am new to the forum, great to be here, such informative and helpful information!
I have a question regarding reapplying for my student visa. I applied in 2010 under General Category but was rejected. I decided to complete my Bachelors and now after 3 years, I want to reapply but this time under SPP program.
This will be my first time applying under SPP, however because I was previously denied a student permit 3 years ago, I was confused if I would be eligible or not. I called VFS and asked them about this and they said I cannot reapply if I was denied within 1 year otherwise I can.
I want to go ahead and apply for SPP since as per VFS I am qualified, however, on page 3 of the SPP checklist I am to declare that I have never been denied a visa. To me, if I sign this, it would seem as I was hiding and being untruthful to the fact that I was never denied a visa when in fact I was.
What can I do to clarify this to the Canadian High Commission? Can I include a cover letter indicating that I was denied 3 years ago but under General and this will be my first time applying under SPP. Or am I not eligible regardless of what VFS saying?
I am all set to go for May 2013. Received my letter of admission, paid my tuition fees, and received my GIC certificate as well. But wanted some advice if I can go ahead with SPP or not?
Thank you so much for everyones help in advance!
