Hi.

I did not completely understand your job details, but engineering background sounds like an occupation which might require compulsory Canadian certification. Read about regulated jobs in Canada. If your occupation is regulated, you might not be able to find the same type of job until you pass all necessary exams. And even if it's not regulated, you really should not anticipate getting the same position level right away. Most immigrants down shift in their career. And it takes they a couple of years to get to the same level they used to have at their home country.

I am not from India and cannot estimate if your family income is sufficient for a decent life. But if you have only financial motivation to move to Canada, you should think twice as you might be disappointed. Canadians do earn more (in dollars) than many people in other countries, but they also spend more - life is quite expensive there.

Please, do no take my advice as "don't go". Just learn more about what to expect there and see if your expectations match with the reality.

Good luck.

There is no happiness = money! That concept may even fail wherever we move. But definitely, its a responsibility of ours to pass over great future, opportunities, happiness to our family members. There are more positive things than the negative when one decide to immigrate to Canada but behind all that positive things there is hidden package of struggle and lot of struggle. My personal suggestion is to do lot of research in your profession, skills, background. This forum is one of the best to get experienced information. Then prepare and if you feel that you can do it. THEN DO IT.
All the best.

As far as I know, telecom jobs are not regulated (though I am not 100% sure - probably might depend on a position). So it should not be a big problem for you to find a career opportunities in Canada.

You say that you are not financially stable currently. In that case you should consider if you are able to afford immigration (no offence, just a possible obstacle). You will have to spend some money on IELTS exams (+ preparation courses in case you need them), diploma's assessment, document translations, fees. For me and my husband it cost about $4000. Prices on some services my vary, but I guess it is close to an average spendings.
And finally, in case you have no arranged employment in Canada, you need to have the proof of funds - minimum required sum to support yourself in Canada right after you land. IRCC requirements for applicants depend on a family size. For two people it would be C$15,143. You can google these numbers by "canada proof of funds" (I am not allowed to post links here yet :()

And be aware, immigration is a long, difficult and stressful process. You can notice this just by reading this forum and seeing everybody complaining about long application processing times :)

Let me try to remove your confusion.

People from India migrate to other countries for better living, comfortable living and safe future. Safe future means there is no social security free medicines and free education in India. The other fact is stability of Economy. A person cannot buy a own house after earning for whole life unless he has money from his forefathers. It is a long history since people started moving out. It was not too difficult than.

Moving in other country dose not necessarily mean that all your struggle will come to an end. But yes for next generation the life would be much safe and comfortable. ( I can say this because all my relatives are settled in other country) You have to determine now looking into the future of your life in India. What are the scopes in your field in India. Most of the Indian cities do not pay well to engineers. IF you are not into those cities like Mumbai Bangalore and Delhi there are hardly any future scopes.

So first make up your mind whether you want to take a risk (postive) of a major change in life. There are always plus and minus points. You have the required education and experience to start the process.

Discuss the life in Canada with your friends and if you know someone in Canada try to contact him to know the life there. IF you make up the mind to shift to Canada you are most welcome to Express Entry and be with us.

I personally advise you to consider applying for PR because it has more plus points than minus ones.

There is not much of a risk if you decide to go because there is less risk as you get PR before going. ( unlike H1 in USA where you are not guaranteed for extension or green card) There are very few countries which gives direct PR. you can first go alone and find a job or you can go with your wife and struggle for a while but i dont think you will repent on your decision later on. If you want better future for your later life and next generation take a step ahead. I doubt the economy of India like many and so if you get a chance to settle in country like Canada, you must give a thought to it. Keep discussing about this to family and friends and you will definitely be able to remove the confusion.
