Ready to Submit Family Class Sponsorship BUT Passport expires in November 2017

Any thoughts?

By way of background, I am a Canadian born citizen residing in the UK and the application is for my wife who is a Greek citizen and is also residing in the UK.

My hope is that we can submit the papers to Mississauga for sponsor approval and that by the time that the file is then transferred to Rome / London that her new passport will be issued.

Is it possible to proceed on this basis, possibly even notifying Canada Immigration that a new passport will be forthcoming or is there a risk that either (i) the application will be refused / postponed pending issue of new passport, or (ii) worse yet, application is approved BUT valid only until November 2017 (i.e. date of expiry of current passport).

it's not an issue to submit the application with a copy of her current passport, then apply for a new one and submit a copy of that new one later on in the process or when she receives her passport request. her application is not going to be refused because her passport is close to expiring.
